Wedding Card

Here's another wedding card I made last night.  The banner, sentiment and heart are all from the Simon Says Stamp June card kit.  I added Glossy Accents to the heart for a bit of shine.  The papers are Echo Park Victoria Garden and the trim and bling are Prima, the bow is seam binding.  The poppy stamp is Hero Arts, silver embossed and coloured with Distress Inks.

Then I stamped the envelope to match with silver ink:

Last Minute

I've had a bit of a production line going here over the weekend with last minute Christmas cards.  I kept this one free of dimensional embellishments for posting.

Hero Arts Greatest Gift stamp set, Papermania snowflake embossing folder with faux letterpress techinque, distress inks and stickles.

Everyone finished their cards already?!  Ger x.

Scandinavian Christmas

Over at Create with Kate's blog they are having their first challenge.  The theme is Scandinavian inspired - red and white and simple.  There is so much of this in the shops this year and it's all gorgeous, so it's the theme for my tree and house this Christmas.  I've never quite managed to carry off a theme before - too many little people eager to throw guady tinsel and multicoloured stuff everywhere LOL so we'll see if I get away with it this year!

Of course I had to use my Nordic Winter stamp set from Waltzingmouse Stamps.  The images were stamped with Worn Lipstick distress ink and the same ink was used to colour the matting and layering card.  A bit of gingham ribbon and a couple of gems - done.  I think I'll be making quite a few red and white cards this Christmas, they're so easy!

Create with Kate are having a Christmas Crafting Jamboree in Athlone next Sunday Dec 4th and I can't wait!  Best bit of all - she's bringing her fabulous shop!

I'm entering this card into:

My first Waltzingmouse Stamps arrived yesterday, woohoo! This is from the Nordic Winter set and I decided to keep things simple for my first attempt.  Used Broken China distress ink and Hero Arts Chalk Ink in Poppy.  Added a couple of gems and a pearl.

Orangey Thankyou

Hi all.  Made this thankyou card using a Tim Holtz embossing folder, sanding and some distress inks, can't remember which colours exactly.  The flowers are from Creative Expressions, stamped with DI and using a wet paintbrush to pull the colour out.  The sentiment is Hero Arts and the embellismhents from Papermania Capsule Collection.  The little paper buttons were die cut (Die-Namics) and also distressed.  Love that button die.

I managed to get to the GBCE in Athlone on Friday morning and will show you my goodies later!

More Hero Arts

I love the Large Fabric background and Find Joy sentiments stamps from Hero Arts.  Used the textured side of some A6 Anita's card blanks and stamped the background in lots of different colours - this one is lilac.  MS border punch, flowers and gems from stash.

More gorgeous new stamps from Hero Arts 2011 catalogue - the flower and leaf is from Blossom Art and the definition background is Dictionary Greeting.  Some Old Paper distress ink, an MS bordern punch and some Glossy Accents in the middle of the flower as inspired by Barb's blog

Lots more stamps to play with ....

Just for You

The background is Hero Arts magical background and Wild Honey distress ink.  The sunflowers and sentiment are from Papermania, as are the papers.  The pearls are Liquid Pearls.  Glossy accents for the centre of the sunflowers - can't see that in the pic.  Promarkers to colour the sunflowers.

Needed some sunshiny colour today!

Baby Boy

I had to make a card for a new baby boy and rummaging through my card box I came across this one.  I had only to add baby's name and date of birth - I printed these details out on Tesco Finest paper, towards the end of the page, snatched the page from the printer as soon as it emerged and dumped Cosmic Shimmers Silver metallic embossing powder on fast before the ink could dry.

Image: Paws-fur-a-moment
Spellbinders scalloped circles
Card sponged with Broken China distress ink
Outline stickers, ribbon from stash

Sorry about the dark photo - the light is so poor these days.

No time for cardmaking

Between school book and uniform lists and walls being chased to put in new solid fuel central heating with the resulting dust and debris, there hasn't been much time for cardmaking. When the new Sheena Douglass stamp plate Christmas Day arrived I had no energy or inspiration left, and ended up more or less copying a design Sheena had posted on her blog - how lazy! In my defence Sheena does have such tempting card designs! However the stamp plate is gorgeous and I hope to play with it properly soon. I will probably end up buying the Christmas Eve plate as well.

Chipped Sapphire distress ink, Snowflake Tinsel Embossing Powder, stamp from Papermania Silent Night stamps.

In the Spotlight

I heard about 'Spotlighting' so had to have a go. Stamped Creative Expressions 'Cottage Flowers' roses with Archival Black, then again onto a Spellbinders Label and coloured just the label image with watercolours. Also used Worn Lipstick Distress Ink, rosebuds and ribbon from stash.

Our own roses are going to dissolve any day now with all this rain!

I wanted to try the scratch-the-corners technique! Stamped Sheena Douglass Cottage Flowers with Worn Lipstick distress ink. Scraped the corners of the card with a craft knife then used cut n dry foam to colour the card with the same ink. The scratches hold onto the ink. Couldn't find a piece of ribbon in the right shade of pink so cut a length of white satin ribbon and went at it with the Worn Lipstick distress ink. It worked! I needed a pink layer so coloured some white card with the distress ink - these inks are really versatile.

13 distress ink colours collected so far ......

Hollyhocks

Okay, I need to learn to use a camera! White card stamped with Sheena Douglass Cottage Flowers in Tumbled Glass, also used to distress edges, layered onto silver mirri. Squidged Tumbled Glass onto craft sheet and picked up colour with a paintbrush, used to add colour and definition to the hollyhocks. Strip of silver mirri coloured with blue alcohol inks then covered with strip of heat-resistant acetate silver embossed with the large Hollyhocks. Going to repeat this design in pinks/purples.

Father's Day

A quick Father's Day card. Vintage Photo Distress Ink applied to card with Cut n Dry Foam. Used a Post It circle to mask out the moon. Creative Expressions trees stamps in Vintage Photo then again with sticky ink and embossed with Clear. Layer edges embossed with Gold. Gold mirri card dots punched out with an office two-hole punch.

Pearly Sheen

This card is thanks to Rosietoes' blog - http://www.anotherdayanothercard.blogspot.com/2010/06/unity-stamps.html
the technique is to splodge two Distress Inks onto white card (here, Wild Honey and Tumbled Glass) then brush over the perfect pearls in Pearl and Gold, punching out butterflies and flowers from the same card. The effect is very pearly with a pretty sheen.
Goes to show Distress Inks aren't all about being dark and grungy!

Whatever you're having

Been playing with Creative Expressions vintage wine stamp plate. It has a lovely, useful script stamp used here with Perfect Medium brushed with Perfect Pearls on inner layer, then stamped with Black Soot Distress Ink on the outer layer. The paper is from Papermania Capsule Collection. Big and Juicy Stamp Pad in Spice was used to colour the innermost layer, pressed onto a non-stick craft mat, sprayed with water, then the card layer squished onto it as demo'd by Sheena Douglass on Create and Craft this morning.

I'm off to a Sheena Douglass workshop in Perth next Monday. Can't wait!
