Singin the blues

Morning all! Hope you are all having a chilled out weekend.  I just love the Hero Arts/Studio Calico Lattice Background. When my Spectrum Noirs arrived I knew I had to try them with this stamp.  The stamp is white embossed and the gaps coloured with shades of blue.  Ombre is a popular technique at the moment and I would like to try other colours to recreate this card in different shades.  It's so easy to do this technique with the Spectrum Noirs, the numbering system makes it so easy to step up the gradient. I added the Marianne Designs die to draw the eye along the gradient and sprayed it with Crafters Companion Spray & Sparkle Silver - hard to see the shimmer in the photo.  The sentiment is computer generated.

Celebrate the Season

Yesterday's clear out unearthed a roll of Micropore or whatever it's called.  I saw it in the chemist's while waiting on a prescription months ago, decided it looked like sticky back canvas and brought it home to bury it deep in my crafty stash.

This morning I stamped Waltzingmouse Stamps Nordic Winter onto it and I thought the texture of the tape brought out the stitch-like quality of the stamps.  So I stuck it down the side of the card. I used the little trees from the set to represent leaves. Sort of. I added glossy accents to give them some shine.

Merry Christmas

Sorry the light isn't great here this morning.  Yesterday's grand sort out of crafty stash started - and stopped - with my stamps.  I found this Kraft card already white embossed and made this card.

I discovered stamps I'd forgotten I had.  I even found a clear stamp I've had for ages that I bought last week in digi format.  Still, just one duplication isn't too bad!

Between School Runs

The plan was, when the schools go back I will get lots of crafting and blogging done.  How could I forget how much clock-watching, paperwork, book-buying and generally running around happens at the start of school/college time?  3 gone back to school and a daughter off to college means very little crafting.  I did make this card for a Hero Arts 90 minute scramble and a mini album for my daughter's friend's 18th but that left the house without a chance to take a photo.

Things are settling down a little now, the paperwork is easing off and the mojo is starting to wake up!  So I hope to be blogging again next week.
