Sometimes it's wonderful to spend ages on a card, other times you need one FAST!  That's when I love docrafts A4 Decoupage paper packs.  This one is their Home to Nest range, it's really lovely.  The little birdhouses are so cute, and there are lovely gardening themes through the pack, pretty colours too.  I added Kraft cardstock and some twine.

 

This summer is already a better one than last year.  The sun is shining today again and first thing this morning I was out 'footing' turf.  An hour of that at a time is enough for me LOL at least until I get hardened to it again - it's backbreaking stuff.  Still, it was lovely and peaceful and my exercise is done for the day!

Don't you just love her attitude? Should be familiar to parents of teenagers!

The image is from Scrappers Delights and I coloured her with Spectrum Noirs and Copics.  The papers are Echo Park Country Drive and the die cut from Memory Box.  The two cardboard flowers were free with a mag.

Red, white and blue at ABC Challenges

Good Monday morning all.  The sun is out - so far anyway, let's hope it stays a while.  This week at ABC Challenges we have a colour challenge - Red, White and Blue.

I just love the new Ahoy Range from Papermania and of course the colours are perfect. I made this for a (cardmaking mad) neighbour's little boy's birthday.

I covered a Papermania square card blank with the patterned paper before cutting a circle from the centre with Sizzix framelits, then cut a frame and an acetate circle.  I had the waves at a steep angle through the porthole but I started to get seasick! I'd get seasick in the bath LOL!

Summer Themed Cards at ABC Challenges

It's Summer Themed cards this week at ABC Challenges and I'm sure we're all ready for Summer!  We had some last week but it's disappeared again.

My card base is Neenah Desert Storm kraft cardstock.  I used some patterned papers, white alpha stickers and ric-rac ribbon from Simon Says Stamp card kits.  The background was inked a little with Broken China for some blue sky, but being Ireland I had to add a cloud too, also from SSS card kit.  The pearls are from The Ribbon Girl.

Midway Inspiration at Crafty Bloggers Network

 

 

The Bright and Breezy challenge is still running at Crafty Bloggers Network and as we're halfway through the month it's time for some Midway Inspiration. 

 

My card was made for a male birthday.  I used a hot air balloon chipboard shape from our sponsor this month, Gina's Designs.  I inked it with Distress Ink and stamped with Hero Arts Envelope Background and Picket Fence Distress Stain. The cardstock, tag, Washi tape and papers are from Simon Says Stamp card kits, and the sentiment is Hero Arts.

Ruby Wedding

Morning all, it's nearly the weekend again!

This card is made for one of my sisters who celebrates her Ruby Wedding on Sunday.  I brought out my Spellbinders Radiant Rectangles die, some red and white card, and the rest was easy!  The ribbon, pearl button and flowers are from The Ribbon Girl and the sentiment computer generated.

I {heart} Animals at ABC Challenges

Good morning!  ABC Challenges this week are having an I {heart} Animals week!  Show us your cards which include an animal.

I chose this Gorjuss Girl stamp with a puddycat on her knee.  This is a big stamp and I used an A5 card - way bigger than I usually use.  I coloured the stamp with Spectrum Noirs and used papers and embellishments from the docrafts Gorguss range, together with flower punches, border punch and Spellbinders dies.

Exam Weather

 

 

Two quickly made cards today, made for Junior Cert exam students (one is for my daughter).  The exams start today, and the weather has done its thing.  The card was made from stamps and papers from Simon Says Stamp card kits, a Hero Arts flower, tiny Papermania sentiment and an EK Success punch.  I put a strip of the flowery green paper on the inside of the card to show through the punched area but you can't see that in the pic.

 

The second card is quite similar and I made a pleated Washi tape flower.

 

 

We see so little sunshine in Ireland it's no wonder we lose the run of ourselves when it does appear.  I think it should be a national day off!

Masculine Cards at ABC Challenges

 

 

Hope you are all enjoying the warm weather!  With Father's Day fast approaching, this week's challenge at ABC Challenges is to create a Masculine card, any type of male card will be fine, including cards for a little boy.

 

 

For my card I used papers and embellishments from last September's Simon Says Stamp Card Kit, including the fun chalkboard which I wrote on with a white gel pen.  The stars were made using a Memory Box die.

Bright and Breezy Challenge at Crafty Bloggers Network

 

 

The sun's out at last and to celebrate, the challenge this month at Crafty Bloggers Network is Bright and Breezy!  Also we have a fabulous new sponsor - Gina's Designs - and a fabulous prize

 

Born out of frustration at not finding the chipboard items I wanted, Gina's Designs grew from a personal project to a commercial endeavor in 2010. At the request of friends I began selling my laser cuts online. As it has grown the company has had some name changes and some different homes. Now Gina's Designs has grown to need it's own home, and here is the wonderful prize that you could win

 

We were given some of those lovely chipboard shapes to play with and I had a lot of fun stamping and inking them up although they look fab just as they are.  Browsing Gina's Designs website I came across some gorgeous freebies and used one of them to make my card.
