90 Minute Scramble

Hero Arts 90 minute scrambles can be at odd times of the day because of hostesses in different time zones.  This one wasn't too bad - 8 - 9.30 p.m. I just stayed off the wine till I finished the card although to look at how crazy I went with the Picket Fence distress stain you would wonder ...

Thoughts and prayers with those in the path of Hurricane Sandy.

Over at ABC Challenges there's a new weekly challenge to make a Halloween card or a Fall themed card in 30 minutes or less!

I coloured this cutie with with my Speccies.  It did take 20 mins to colour and cut out but I had only to die cut the sentiment and row of houses and stick everything down.

Pop on over and see the rest of the Design Team's gorgeous Halloween and Fall cards and hopefully be inspired to make your own and enter this week!

Joy

I'm loving the new thin dies and the trend for popping them into the negative die cut.  I cut this Memory Box Mod Tree from red cardstock and again from Kraft and popped the Kraft tree into the negative space.  The stars are Memory Box Holiday Shapes. I added white letter stickers and some torn card sprinkled with glitter.  There are endless possibilities here - the red tree would look super popped into white card, green would be good - lots of permutations and possibilities for the mass production of Christmas cards ahead!

New Challenge - ABC Challenge Blog

I am delighted to announce a brand new challenge blog - ABC Challenges

The first weekly challenge starts today and the theme is - 'New to You'.  Here is my design team card and I used my brand new Simon Says Stamp 'thinking of you' die. Spectrum Noirs BT7 was used on the edge of the card to create a mat and I also used the Speccies to colour the flower and used the same pen to colour some card blue before using the die to cut out the message from the card.

Hop on over to the challenge blog and see what the rest of the design team have created, and find something in your stash you haven't used yet, pop it on a card and enter the challenge!

Silent Night

Sorry about the strange lighting in this photo - I was trying to capture the shimmer from the Perfect Pearls which I sprayed all over the image.

I bought these gorgeous Christmas papers last year but hardly used them.  The image has been coloured with Spectrum Noirs and inked with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink before spraying with Perfect Pearls and water.

The sun is out here for a change. Hope it's sunny where you are!

Singin the blues

Morning all! Hope you are all having a chilled out weekend.  I just love the Hero Arts/Studio Calico Lattice Background. When my Spectrum Noirs arrived I knew I had to try them with this stamp.  The stamp is white embossed and the gaps coloured with shades of blue.  Ombre is a popular technique at the moment and I would like to try other colours to recreate this card in different shades.  It's so easy to do this technique with the Spectrum Noirs, the numbering system makes it so easy to step up the gradient. I added the Marianne Designs die to draw the eye along the gradient and sprayed it with Crafters Companion Spray & Sparkle Silver - hard to see the shimmer in the photo.  The sentiment is computer generated.

Celebrate the Season

Yesterday's clear out unearthed a roll of Micropore or whatever it's called.  I saw it in the chemist's while waiting on a prescription months ago, decided it looked like sticky back canvas and brought it home to bury it deep in my crafty stash.

This morning I stamped Waltzingmouse Stamps Nordic Winter onto it and I thought the texture of the tape brought out the stitch-like quality of the stamps.  So I stuck it down the side of the card. I used the little trees from the set to represent leaves. Sort of. I added glossy accents to give them some shine.

Merry Christmas

Sorry the light isn't great here this morning.  Yesterday's grand sort out of crafty stash started - and stopped - with my stamps.  I found this Kraft card already white embossed and made this card.

I discovered stamps I'd forgotten I had.  I even found a clear stamp I've had for ages that I bought last week in digi format.  Still, just one duplication isn't too bad!
